Peace Building & Transitional Justice
Our Response to Ongoing Conflict
The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has faced decades of conflict, leaving communities devastated by violence and instability. The Panzi Foundation is committed to promoting transitional justice to address the root causes of these conflicts. By fostering accountability, reconciliation, and social cohesion, we aim to rebuild trust, confront systemic inequalities, and empower communities to heal.
Transitional justice is essential for restoring faith in institutions and addressing the social fractures caused by war. Through advocacy, legal reform, and community dialogue, we create spaces where diverse groups can come together and envision a shared future of peace. Survivors and communities are at the heart of this work, as we believe lasting peace can only be achieved through inclusive, locally driven efforts.

Holistic care
What is Holistic Care?
Holistic care recognizes that healing extends beyond physical treatment to address emotional, social, and legal needs. At the Panzi Foundation, we provide a comprehensive framework that includes medical care, psychosocial support, legal services, and socioeconomic reintegration. This approach ensures survivors can rebuild their lives with dignity and resilience.
Our programs prioritize integrated care, offering survivors access to all essential services under one roof. Whether through One Stop Centers, Maison Dorcas aftercare facilities, or mobile clinics reaching remote areas, we ensure every survivor receives tailored support. By addressing interconnected needs, holistic care fosters long-term healing and community restoration.

Responsible Sourcing
No Congo, No Progress
The DRC is home to minerals like coltan, cobalt, and lithium, essential for powering modern technology and green energy. Yet, this wealth often fuels exploitation, environmental harm, and human rights abuses. The Panzi Foundation advocates for responsible sourcing to ensure these resources benefit the Congolese people without perpetuating cycles of violence and poverty.
Through green mining initiatives, policy advocacy, and community engagement, we promote ethical practices that safeguard human rights and the environment. Our approach emphasizes empowering local communities with education, alternative livelihoods, and a voice in the resource sector. By collaborating with businesses and policymakers, we aim to create transparent, sustainable supply chains that prioritize people over profit.
Our impact in responsible sourcing
The DRC holds 60% of the world’s cobalt reserves, critical for renewable energy technologies
Mining employs 19% of the Congolese workforce, with many working in unsafe conditions
worth of minerals lie untapped in the DRC, representing both a challenge and an opportunity
